Are the Plants and Animals conserved by Ark of Life actually worth Saving?

All of the plants and animals protected by Ark of Life have been rendered extinct in the wild (or practically so) directly through human activitiy.

Ark of Life has not been established to answer the philosophical questions surrounding extinction. Rather, we hold the ethos that human beings, as the dominant life on earth, have a responsibility as stewards of our world to ensure that the biological wealth of our planet does not decrease over time. As such, the arks we set up safeguard the survival in cultivation of extinct-in-the-wild taxa, so that genetic diversity is not lost, and future generations may have the option of reintroducing anthropogenically-extinct wildlife, if this is deemed desirable.
